On shoes, colleagues and the changing seasons

Liz‎'s footwear is now apparently her colleagues' main indicator for the change of season: "Liz - you're wearing shoes...it must be spring!" [Presume they mean as opposed to boots. Definitely have not been barefoot for the last 4 months.]

On pain in the name of beauty

Liz is wondering at what point the number of plasters required to wear the pretty red shoes with some degree of comfort outweighs the prettiness?

On complimentary football thugs

Liz has decided that "We love your purple wellies" is probably the most affirming thing ever to be shouted by a Millwall fan.

On the inspirational power of special shoes

Liz has decided that packing for week's camping will be a whole heap more fun if she prances around in her purple wellies while doing it.

On the damage summer does to feet

Liz has feet that are covered in a patchwork of assorted plasters - unicorns, Snoopy, Mr Bump, clear and cushioned - she's walking the fine line between needing blister protection and triggering her plaster allergy...

On new shoes & blood stains

Liz forgot the golden rule of new shoe wearing - always have plasters. Another good thing about red shoes: the blood stains don't show...

On new shoes versus work

On being a good Girl Guide

Liz is attempting to fix her favourite purple shoes with the aid of an elastic hair band and a swiss army knife. Surely there's no reason why this won't work?

On the death of favourite shoes

Liz has yet again failed to ensure the wearing of weather appropriate footwear and should probably throw away the holey (but lovely) shoes. RIP pretty black ballet shoes.

On inappropriately noisy shoes

Liz seems destined to always own noisy shoes. The ones that go "clip-clop" in a horselike fashion have been joined by Birkenstocks that make a less favourable noise. (I'll leave it's exact nature up to your imagination.)

On ankle issues

Liz would love to say that it was over exertion at the gym that's triggered her ankle issues, but no, it was the pretty shoes.

On noisy shoes

Liz has spent the day wearing shoes that make horse noises. (As in "clip-clop" not "neigh"). It made her happy.

On inappropriate outdoor footwear

Liz designated her 'office shoes' for a reason - they had a hole in their sole. This meant that they shouldn't be worn outside, especially when wet. Liz forgot this and now has very wet and very cold feet. And her shoes squelch. Nice.

On painful shoes

Liz is suffering from 'first day of wearing favourite summer shoes this year' pain. Totally worth it though.

On inappropriate footwear (for snow)

Liz has realised that converse+blizzard+snow drifts = slow walking & wet feet.

Thursday, 4 September 2008

On inappropriate footwear (in the rain)

Liz should have realised that purple shoes + rain = purple feet. Oops.

On the effects of wearing wellies for extended periods of time

Liz is home and examining her feet for trench foot after 4 days in wellies.

On the joy of glittery shoes

Liz is breaking in her (literally) sparkling new shoes.
